Vision problems not having to do with reading eye charts are commonly underdiagnosed in this population. Reading performance, sports performance, and just plain not feeling like your vision is right is common after concussions. I consult at numerous rehab settings as well as Nicklaus Childrens Hospital where it is felt that vision rehab is the missing link in concussion rehab.

Balancing problems and misjudging where things are common after strokes. Again I consult at rehab hospitals and centers for these problems that have little to do with the eye chart. I have eight hours of board approved education courses in these areas for occupational, physical therapists as well as nursing. Special yoked prism lens prescribing and vision exercises are used to aid balance, navigation and reaching for things in the right place. Often these conditions go undiagnosed and untreated in routine eye exams.
